WINONA, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University of Minnesota women's tennis team returns to Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action this weekend, heading to Lifetime Fitness in White Bear Lake, Minn., on Friday for a 6:30 p.m. match against Macalester, before returning home to the Winona Tennis Center for a 2 p.m. matchup against Hamline on Sunday.

• Friday's match against Macalester is the seventh straight road match for the Cardinals, who have played just two home contests this season — winning both. … The Cardinals' 6-3 win over Hanover on Feb. 26 snapped their season-high five-match losing streak. … The Cardinals picked up a pair of doubles wins by Laura Sonday (West St. Paul, Minn.) and Colleen Lois (Green Bay, Wis.) at No. 1 and Cassandra Barr (Eau Claire, Wis.) and Kennedy Morgan (Green Bay, Wis.) at No. 2, while Sonday, Lois, Julia Boeve (St. James, Minn.), and Madyson Schreiber (Edwardsville, Ill.) added singles wins in Saint Mary's 6-3 victory over Hanover on Feb. 26. … Boeve — who had dropped just one game in winning her two singles matches to open the season — had her career-high 12-match winning streak snapped with a three-set, 5-7, 6-3, 10-4 loss to Gustavus on Feb. 9. … Sonday and Boeve enter this weekend's matches against Macalester and Hamline leading the team with four dual-match singles wins, one more than both Lois and Barr. … Sonday — who shared the team lead in singles wins a year ago (16) with Boeve — played her 67th consecutive match at No. 1 singles against Hanover on Feb. 26. … Boeve is currently No. 4 all-time with 50 singles wins — seven behind career-leader Megan Vandenberg — while Sonday is sitting in fifth with 48. … Sonday is No. 2 all-time in doubles wins with 46, 12 back of career-leader Bailey Edwards. … Kennedy Morgan's (Green Bay, Wis.) win at No. 5 singles against Northwestern on Feb. 1 was her first collegiate singles victory. • With their win over Concordia last Friday, the Scots have now won two of their last three matches — both by 9-0 decisions. Macalester also owns an 8-1 win over UW-Superior, while falling to St. Scholastica (5-4) and St. Catherine (8-1). … Macalester heads into Friday's showdown against Saint Mary's owning a 19-11 record in singles play, led by Emma Baker and Natali Sorajia with four wins each. Camilla Benedetti and Laurel Hickey each owns three singles wins, while Claire Buehler has won two. … Macalester is 4-1 at No. 3 singles, while going 3-2 at the other five singles positions. … Baker and Sorajia are a perfect 5-0 as a doubles team, going 1-0 at No. 1 and 4-0 at No. 2. … Hickey and Della Brown are second with three doubles wins for the Scots, who are 12-3 in doubles play this season — including 5-0 at No. 2. … The Scots' first five matches this season have all been played on the road — including owning a 3-1 record in neutral-site matches.

• The Pipers head into this weekend's matches against St. Catherine and Saint Mary's mired in their second two-match losing streak of the season. … Six of Hamline's seven matches this season have been decided in a sweep — including all three of HU's victories. Hamline owns 9-0 wins over Crown and Martin Luther, while adding a 6-0 victory over St. Ambrose.
