WINONA, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University women's golf team is back in action this weekend, as the Cardinals host the eight-team Saint Mary's Invitational at The Bridges Golf Course.

• For the second tournament in a row, Jessica Massimo (Kenosha, Wis.) turned in the Cardinals' best 36-hole performance last weekend at the UW-La Crosse/Viterbo Invitational. Massimo opened with a 94 last Saturday and followed that up with a second-round 93 for a 187 total. … Celeste Van Klein (Lake City, Minn.) posted the Cardinals' low round of the tournament last weekend, firing a second-day 92 to finish second to Massimo with a 196 total. … Madyson Ulrey (North Manchester, Ind.) posted a 104-100—204 at the UW-La Crosse/Viterbo Invitational, with Dani Stevens (Delano, Minn. / 107-100—207) and Cassie Sepp (Duluth, Minn. / 114-105) rounding out the Cardinals' lineup. … Massimo carded rounds of 92-88—180 to place 12th individually and lead the Cardinals to a third-place finish at the season-opening, eight-team Twin Ports Challenge on Aug. 30-31. … Massimo's second-round 88 was just two strokes shut of her collegiate best — the sophomore posted a career-low 86 during the second round of the 36-hole Saint Benedict Invitational on Sept. 2, 2018. … Massimo has now recorded the team's low score in 13 of their last 17 competitive rounds. … Van Klein shot the low round of the tournament for the Cardinals at the Twin Ports Challenge on Aug. 31, shooting a career-low 87 during the second round. … Massimor heads into this weekend's Saint Mary's Invitational with a team-leading 91.75 scoring average, followed by Van Klein (95.25) and Ulrey (99.75). … As a team, Saint Mary's posted a season-best 364 during the second round of the Twin Ports Collegiate on Aug. 31.
