Star pitcher for the Saint Mary’s baseball team in 1940, 1941 and 1942. … Selected to the conference all-star squad in 1941 and 1942. … Lost only two games in his three-year career as an SMC pitcher- his first and his last- while winning everything in between. … Struck out 15 batters and posted three hits for Saint Mary’s en route to a 19-3 victory over Augsburg in 1940. … Under Coach Max Molock, pitched two complete games in a doubleheader sweep against the College of Saint Thomas, leading Saint Mary’s to its first-ever conference title in 1941. … As a member of the Winona Polish National Alliance semi-pro team, pitched a no-hitter in June, 1940. … As a Winona High School pitcher in 1939, hurled three seven-inning games in two days, leading his school to its first-ever baseball state championship.
